Lead Scoring

Definition

Lead scoring is a process by which companies evaluate their inquiries based on how promising they are as potential customers. For example, an inquiry from someone who is specifically looking to make a purchase is often more valuable than a non-binding request for information. Specific criteria are established for this purpose. This allows marketing and sales teams to better identify which prospects they should prioritize.
